ancient and nevertheless quite new
SENETI, the different strategy game, is a reconstruction of the Babylonian 20-fields game in general known as an old play which was found by Sir Leonard Woolley in a king's grave of the antique city of Ur and is displayed today in the British museum of London. The aim of the game is to make the opponent movement-incapable by occuping and blocking. Since his discovery during the twenties years of the 20th century it was tried over and over again to reconstruct the missing rules, but with all these attempts always only a few symbolic fields found entrance in the rules. The biggest part of the field inscriptions was looked in the absence of sensible interpretation always only as a decoration. The SENETI-board considers in this version for the first time all rules, all symbolic fields and makes with it the attractive old game, finally, also a demanding strategy game.
