Dogs and jackals, the unusual tactics game, is probably the best known one of the "58-hole game" widespread in the antiquity. Such games were a popular pastime namely from approx. 2,200 B.C. till 9th Cent. A.D., so for a period of more than 3,000 years. Now, finally, the missing rules of this amusing game could be reconstructed and there originated an enormously exciting tactics game. The board of DOGS & JACKALS orientates itself in his creation to the original from the time about 1,800 B.C. which is today in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The aim of the play is to move the own figures thus cleverly about own distance that the token of the opponent about his distance are hunted and chased into the aim fields.
